Frequently Asked Questions
How to choose a blade, quote a price, reorder, ship, and get help.
How do I choose the correct blade?
Match four facts from a blade you already run or from the mill manual: width, thickness, tooth pitch, and finished loop length. If you know those values, start at Shop Blades and get a Quick Quote. If you do not know your blade specification, call Kenne-SAW at (877) 420-9235 or contact us for assistance.
A starting point for wood cutting is about eight teeth in the cut. Four-inch resawing often uses about 2 TPI. Six-inch resawing often uses a 3/4-inch pitch (about 1.3 TPI). A common portable-sawmill pattern is a 7/8-inch pitch (about 1.1 TPI).
Where do I find blade width, thickness, tooth pitch, and finished length?
Width is the band from back to tooth tip. Thickness is the gauge of the band. Tooth pitch is teeth per inch or the tooth spacing stamped on the blade. Finished length is the welded loop length your mill is set for, in inches — not the box length. Write those four values down, then open Shop Blades or Quick Quote.
How do I request a Quick Quote?
Open Quick Quote on this site, choose the blade specification, enter finished length and quantity, and review the quoted price. Catalog numbers on product pages are not a finished blade price. US orders ship from White, Georgia.
How do I reorder a blade I previously purchased?
Sign in and open Reorder / My Blades. You will see the previous specification, finished length, most recent purchase date, and previous quantity. You can edit quantity and add the blade to cart at today’s calculated price.
When will my order ship?
Most in-stock blade orders leave during weekday production hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Transit time depends on the shipping method chosen at checkout. Call (877) 420-9235 if you need the status of a specific order.
What shipping methods are offered?
Checkout shows the live shipping methods and rates for the destination you enter. Do not use catalog or quote-page numbers as a shipping quote. FedEx options appear when they are available for that cart. Change the method on the cart or checkout page before paying.
What if I do not know my blade specification?
Measure a blade that already runs on the mill, or read the mill manual. Then use Shop Blades or Quick Quote. If you do not know your blade specification, call Kenne-SAW at (877) 420-9235 or contact us for assistance.
What is the return/remake policy?
Custom-length welded bandsaw blades are made to the specification you confirm. If a blade was built short or otherwise does not match what was ordered, call (877) 420-9235. Published customer reviews describe remakes and replacements handled by phone. See the shipping and returns page for written policy text, or Contact before returning a product on your own.
How do I troubleshoot poor cuts or premature blade failure?
Heat is the most common cause of early blade failure. Heat comes from dull teeth, blade rub on guides or backup supports, and the blade body wearing on the wood. Sharp teeth, correctly spaced guides, a well-tracking blade, and sound wheel condition (surface, balance, alignment) reduce heat. Properly set teeth, efficient sawdust removal, and fluids that keep residue off the body also help. If cuts are still poor after checking the mill, call (877) 420-9235 with the spec you are running.
